KEEPING NOISE FENCED IN

Noise pollution is an ever increasing issue in modern life. Construction sites are particularly challenging environments in which to control noise.

High levels of noise can lead to complaints from nearby residential areas, action from local authorities and can even result in the site being closed down.

HERAS have seen how this problem can impact on the community as a whole and have come up with a solution – HAB1 (HERAS Acoustic Barrier).

The HERAS Acoustic Barrier has been engineered for the optimum balance between weight, acoustic performance and cost.

KEY FEATURES

  • Engineered Acoustic Performance
  • 3rd Party tested to BS EN 1793 part 1&2
  • Fully Fire Resistant

What is the HERAS Acoustic Barrier?

The HAB1 is based on a high tech acoustic screen, which typically fits quickly and easily around HERAS® fencing or scaffolding. This flexible acoustic barrier not only absorbs sound on site but also creates an aesthetically pleasing barrier to the outside world. It is a safe lightweight product which is easy to handle, transport and quick to install. It absorbs sound rather than reflecting it, independently tested and certified to deliver up to 30dB. Our innovative design features not only provide exceptional and market leading acoustic performance, but also make fitting and removal fast and convenient.

  • Lightweight and Flexible (6kg)
  • Fast and Simple 'One Man' Installation
  • Promotes public relations & reduces complaints

Why use the HERAS Acoustic barrier?

Excessive noise or, put another way, noise pollution, is becoming an increasingly important social and commercial issue.

The commercial benefits of noise reduction are enormous, including extending site operating hours (thus reducing costs), minimising the likelihood of noise complaints, and creating a productive working environment.

WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION SOUND GUIDELINES

The world Health Organisation has issued guidelines regarding noise levels. They class 55dB as loud enough to cause serious annoyance and state that noise levels as low as 70dB can reult in hearing impairment. With heavy plant tools working in excess of 85dB on a construction site, it is easy to see why this is a significant issues.
